Changing default EMAIL Order Status message on Checkout

Hi, 
For one of my modules for payment, Cash on Delivery, Presta does not send out the email and sets the order to the wrong status. 

How can I change it? I have created the email template and it exist and have set it to be the order status but it is not working. How can I change status and email template for each type of payment?

I have the same issue.  I have searched high and low, but can't seem to find a way to configure PS (v 1.6.0.14) to set a different order status upon successful execution of an order.  In my particular case, it continues to default to "Awaiting Bank Wire Payment".  I have even completely uninstalled the "Bank Wire" and "Payment by Check" modules (which I believe are the 2 default payment modules w/ PS 1.6), but it continues to happen.  I have actually uninstalled all payment modules except for Stripe (3rd party, by Bellini Services), and it still happens.  The order statuses that I configure through Stripe aren't showing up, and based on that, the customer emails aren't being sent as expected.

 

Once I get through this, need to figure out why the merchant notifications emails are not being sent...even after I change the order status to "Payment Accepted" in the back office.
