coolnerdllc
having problems with the theme configurator. i'm using the default theme, just to learn how to edit the site, the way i want to. the biggest problem is the product carousel. the option to edit the images is no where to be found. also, the option to edit certain features is not available as well. it is one of many issues i'm having with prestashop, but this is the most important. i've dealt with other site platforms and prestashop is like pulling teeth. would like any advice on how i can figure out how to get this problem fixed, so i can get my theme configurator to give me the options, color control, carousel control, and et.c
unlimitedgrain
the standard theme configurator does not give a lot of options, there are add-on modules that have more functionality.
cille5
I recomend to buy leotheme product. You got lots of widgets and cool theme with few $... leotheme.com
newbie87
There is no option to edit specific images in Prestashop. You can add or change images that you have already edited by using the theme configurator and on the Modules page. Hope that helps - from one Newbie to another..... :-)
coolnerdllc
thanks, i know how to change the image, the slider image option is not available @ all. looks like prestashop is just a fremium app, yeah its free; but if you want goodies you gotta pay. lol. newbie87
Did you check under the Home Slider module in the Modules area of the backend? Unfortunately, you are correct about the pricing/functionality. And even when one purchases modules buyer beware. So many of the modules I've recently purchased from Addons and Envato do not work correctly out of the box. They need further customization (read: more money). :-(
unlimitedgrain
you can have a look at https://www.artupfront.com we only used 2 payed modules the rest is free modules or standard. I think Prestashop is great software and if you have any problems and you formulate your issue good with all information, there are a lot of members here to help. unlimitedgrain
this is not to change the images, this is done in home slider module. First start reading the documentation about prestashop and look in the forum is anybody has the same problem. I think this has more about how you start with it. newbie87
All Prestashop modules are showing in the backend but each one has to be installed and then configured after it is installed. That confused me at first. In some cases, if it does not show, disable the module, uninstall, clear the cache (Advanced Parameters/ Performance top right hand menu) return to Modules and reinstall. I don't mean to insult your intelligence or imply that you did not do this - just trying to cover all bases before you give up. :-) PrestaShop has a high learning curve and needs to be customized with separate modules. But, there are some benefits to having no monthly hosted cart fees. And, it includes some features you might have to pay extra for on other platforms: responsive design, mobile site to name a few. newbie87
You might also check into purchasing the manual - about $26 new. It does not have much help for troubleshooting. But, is very good for helping with step by step set up of the cart.
coolnerdllc
u gotta purchase the manual, really?
unlimitedgrain
I suggest you investigate your options and ask for help when you want help. No use having a topic with only complains, no one is forcing you to use this platform.
