MeowsTheTime
I noticed only 1 image with a "?" after "1Click Upgrade" which was good. Easy fix, delete product and create new one...but didn't work that way...created new product but still with a "?". See attached. And my favicon shows up in backoffice but not in front office even after I re-load the file. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
rocky
Strange that one image is working, but not another. Makes me think it's not a .htaccess file problem. My guess it that your thumbnails weren't generated correctly. Perhaps, the source image you uploaded is too big for PrestaShop to handle. Try reducing the size of the image before uploading. You can also try regenerating thumbnails on the Preferences > Images tab to see if that causes them to appear.
MeowsTheTime
Ok, I regenerated...... now all images are "?" How do I make it go back to how it was before .....help.... MeowsTheTime
Though I can see them in my back office in the product list with the picture icon to the left....but when you click on the image it's a big, ole "?" now....
rocky
Did it finish regenerating all images or did it time out? If it timed out, you must return to the Preferences > Images tab, change "Erase previous images" to "No" and then click the "Regenerate thumbnails" button again. Keep doing this until a green "Thumbnail regeneration successful" message appears. You need to make sure that each image size that has a question mark image has had all it's thumbnails generated. MeowsTheTime
Yes I regenerated. Can I not go to the admin/img/p/1-9 folders...deleted and try again....ALSO tmp/ products-mini_500.jpg then there's a product-mini_500_1.jpg...is the second on, the regenerated? Can these be deleted as well and start over on uploading images?
rocky
If it successfully regenerated all the thumbnails, then you shouldn't see any more question marks. I don't understand why you'd still see question marks. I think you can delete those images, but I'd back them up first just in case they don't regenerate. MeowsTheTime
You suggested I regenerate and I did......now all products are "?"....so where to go from here? It doesn't work even if I delete the image and upload a new one. I'm giving up now. No help, no apparent work around. Site is worse now than when I started. Thanks anyway. MeowsTheTime
Anyone reading these post, I'm as tired as you of my "belly-aching" about the image files after upgrade, trust me. My store has less than 500 products. Here's what I want to do.... I want to delete all my products and all my images in the p /1/2/3 where it is 123...I get all that. But will that be enough to start over with products from scratch? I tried to create a new product but again, the good ole "?" came up but was thinking it could be that way because all of the uploads that I've attempted to do....Legacy, NO, then Yes, then No, etc....(though it's odd that I rolled back and rolled forward again and the images worked with a few having the "?" then I regenerated thumbnails and it all went to...#%^^ questions marks. I know, I know, it's user error. I promise I have spent countless hours on the forums trying my best. Is there something I need to know first, before I attempt this? rocky
I suggest that you get a professional to look at your website. Maybe they will see something that you're not. Unfortunately, I'm going on a holiday tomorrow for a week, so I won't be able to help for a week.
MeowsTheTime
Thanks Rocky for trying. Enjoy your holiday. I was able to fix it...or at least it was the only way that I knew how to fix it. (I live in the South so we "fix" a lot of things down here...lol) Anyway, I'm posting in the hopes it might (or might not) help someone else. I noticed in my Cpanel under the files img/p/1/2/etc.....that my pictures had been named with "mseKRkZiqp" (I guess this happen after a regeneration of thumnbnails? I a not sure) and my page said the picture was pointing to "_default"....so I changed those particular files to the "_default" and so far, all seems to be working. We will see..... rocky
Sounds like a server configuration issue is preventing the files from being renamed, but I can't be sure.
MeowsTheTime
I am wondering if I just change the name of the original .jpg and add the "_default" in cpanel and then regenerate....if it will do correctly? I'm too afraid to try....
