Product images links to different filename path after upgrade from version 1.5 to version 1.6

Recommended Posts

Hi.. after upgrading prestashop to the latest version 1.6, i noticed that my images are all not appearing in my default prestashop theme.

When I checked, the image locations that the theme is looking for is as follows : >

http://arvee.com.my/prestashop/img/p/1/2/2/5/1225-thickbox_default.jpg

http://arvee.com.my/prestashop/img/p/1/2/2/5/1225-large_default.jpg

Where else, the files in my server shows the following names : >

http://arvee.com.my/prestashop/img/p/1/2/2/5/1225-thickbox.jpg

http://arvee.com.my/prestashop/img/p/1/2/2/5/1225-large.jpg

Apparently all the files in my server, does not have the "DEFAULT" word after the image name, as what the theme is trying to link to. How do I solve this ?? Please help.

I had the same problem as kilrathi but not only did I have the "_default.jpg", I also had another image with a weird name like "-mseKRkziqp.jpg". I could be wrong but am thinking it was due to the regenerate thumbnails that I tried a couple of times when I couldn't get the images to work.

I ended up going to my cpanel and changing all of my images to have the "_default.jpg" though there are several pics generated in each instance (small, medium, large, etc.). Luckily I only had 500 or less in my store.  I'm sure there is a better way but I needed my done and couldn't find anything else on the subject. (I found other solutions that didn't work in my case.) Hope this helps or can point you to a faster "fix".

need to add these files into the preferences, images. if you have these files, simply need to regenerate the images for products and check if works.make a backup of all images first

i checked in my image preference, these files are available, but when i regenrate thumbnail, nothing happens... the filename remains the same in my server.

I have found the solution. I had to Edit the names of the images option under Preference .. from "home" to become "home_default" and do the same for all others. After that regenerate and hey presto ... my shop is up and running !!
