Runge1980
I have a Strange problem with my Categories. Have a main folder called Produkter and under that all my Categories. But with some of the Categories there is a problem when i change the Category title For Example i Have a categorie called: Mobile covers with Subcategories Looks like this Produkter => Mobil Covers =>HTC (Changed it to HTC Covers) After changing it it puts the subcategory under Root. witch makes a 404 in the shop. After the change the list of folder dont show anymore. Best regards Lasse Edited March 10, 2015 by Runge1980 (see edit history)

Runge1980
Here you can ses the problem. Arter renaming these categories they are mover out of produkts folder and placed in root. And it's only these 4 categories. Regards Lasse

ventesites
i am having the same problem with prestashop 1.6.9 (fresh new install) whenever i modify a parent category it is moved to roots, only way i found so far to get them back is to manually change parent id in the database but this is really not the answer. Everytime it creates a mess with all the products and i am still looking for a real way to solve this big problem...
shacker
looks liek a bug in that ps version
ventesites
yes and I can't/won't update to new version as long the bug has not been solved because I am afraid to get into more troubles... From what I read in this thread many people had the bug after upgrade of Prestashop version but in my case I have it since day one with a 100% fresh install... If i change a single word for example in the category description, the category is moved to roots + products are dispatched all over to others categories + no more alphabetical order of products.... ventesites
and as said by zorro22 this post should NOT be marked solved because it is not, this is really frustrating for many of us expecting answer to this big problem.... shacker
try to upgrade to ps 1.6.0.14, make a backup with the autoupdate module. check if all works fine, if yes, you can do the upgrade. if not, you can rollback
