GoDaddy and email configuration

Recommended Posts

Hello all

I have a problem for configuring the SMTP mail to be used on a GoDaddy server.

I found lots of people experiencing this problem but it seems that none solved it.

Anyone has an idea ?

My config :
Prestashop 1.2.5
GoDaddy

Thanks

Yea I dont know what to do. I called them before and I got assistance back when 1.2.X version came out and got my SMTP to work. I dont remember what made it work, but it was working for a good 3 months.

Now it has stoppped working. I gave up and paid for 3 new hosts. all of those do not work with SMTP either. But if I use a sample PHP SMTP testing script, it works fine.

I have tried relay-hosting.secureserver.net and smtpout.secureserver.net. Same crap!
also, when I enter proper login info, the test mail in Prestashop just hangs and the status icon keeps spinning and no mail gets sent. But If i put in the wrong password or not use the right connection settings, I get an instant error notification just as expected.

I get so angry over this. it has been months and no luck...
I tried to dump GoDaddy several times but I keep coming back because their PHP mail gets send out in 1-5 seconds on average. I hate other hosts that Use cPanel because the PHP mail ALWAYS takes 4-8 min to show up. I work 1 on 1 with customers allot in a support que. I dont have 8 minutes to wait on an email! So I just rage all day...

Does anyone know of any custom changes to make to Prestashop's SMTP mailing function?

In order to be able to send email through our Godaddy hosting accounts you must use the following relay server in your code:

relay-hosting.secureserver.net

You do not need to provide a user name and password for this relay server as it does not require authentication. You can use port 25 if the application requires a port.
