how to add a product category to the item card?

Recommended Posts

i don't understand well your expectactions, but seems like you just want to add

- product to selected category

so, if your product (ablum) is on CD - associate it with "CD" category, if it's blueray - associate it with "blueray" category

anyway, i think that i missed something important ;-)

hello

i understand now i think ;-)

you just simply want to add "category name" to search results, product lists, and to product page. that's right?

if so, i've got one question. for example, this S.O.A.D album is associated with other categories too?

CD / DVD / BLUE RAY will be always marked as "main" product category?

if so, solution is easy,

just let me know please :-)

RIGHT!

"if so, i've got one question. for example, this S.O.A.D album is associated with other categories too?

YES

Some products have two categories: 1) the type of media (cd, dvd etc /) and 2)"we recommend". (primary category - the type of media (cd, dvd, etc))

for example:

if I open the product page from the catrgory "we recommend" - on the product page should stand category type of media (cd, dvd, etc)

(the path to the product page in the breadcrumbs is: Home - we recommend - album name)

----------------------

If the option with two categories is not possible  - how to make with one ?

thx!

product.tpl uses $product variable as object

it means that each "object description" is accessible with -> something like: $product->category, $product->name.

product-list.tpl uses $product variable as an array

in smarty syntax, to access to descriptions of product we have to use dot like $product.category, $product.name

a problem:

I add the product to the module "recommended products on the main page" and on the product page changes its category (instead of Cd,DVD,BR.... I see the category HOME)

what is the reason?

hi, vekta

i need support:

i add

{$product->category}

{$product.category}

it works

but, after updating (from csv) prices and residual category of products changes on the home page

(products on the main page displays a standard module "homefeatured")
