I need to modify width of "home page editorial"

I would like to change the widht of home page editorial, because I'd like to move left colum up.

 

You can see in attached file what I try to do.

I may not have understood but, if all you want to do is add text, images or anything else to your left column then just use a Free HTML or Content box, you can find these I the free modules forum.

Maybe that I haven't be clear in my request, sorry for that.

At the moment my lay-out is the one in the pic named "before" and I'd like to change like the pic named "after"

I did the modification with an image editor to explain better my need.
