Any chance to start with empty BO product list by default?

Dear,

 

I customized the admin product list pretty heavily. However, as the query for all the products runs a bit slower, is there a way to start by default with that list empty, preserving the reset filter function to show all the products?

 

More, how can I sort the list, by default with DESC id, instead of ASC id?

 

I really went deep with controllers, especially with AdminProductsController, but no luck.

 

Using 1.6.0.6
