sweetyarracoffee
Hi Greetings! We are a coffee roastery we sell roasted coffee beans and raw green coffee beans by the kilo. We just bought a prestashop template and it has been installed succesfully and we are trying to create products. Our products are based on coffee origin and weight. And our problem may sound bit hard to explain but I try my best... So for example, we have Tanzania Kilimanjaro coffee (raw green coffee bean) and we have 120 kg of this coffee. We want to sell this coffee in our shop. We are actually just trying to look for a way to create a drop down menu where customer can specify how many kilograms they want to purchase and the more quantity they choose the cheaper the price, but we cant find a way to do this. There is "pack" setting but it does not really serve this purpose, (or maybe I am missing something here?) So is there anyway to do this while maintaining the actual stock quantity? Another way we tried is we create another product under the same actual product and name it Tanzania Kilimanjaro 2.5 but the there is a quantity assigned for this new product listing and it is not in conjunction to the other product that has 1 kg weight on it. There is product attribute setting but this also cannot specify the price. So basically what we want to do is this: We want to make a product listing where customer can choose how many kilogram of coffee they want to purchase, not as simple as adding the quantity because that will make the price per unit the same. We cant find a way to discount purchased price if the customer buy 2 or more than 2. And even if available, by the half for example 2.5 kg. Is there anyway to get around this? Much appreciated
Paulito
Hello You can achieve this by going to: Back office > Catalog > Product Attributes Then Add You Product and Add Values to the Attributes. See the Link below I have just done for Kenyan Coffee http://adultskunk.co.uk/index.php?id_product=15&controller=product&id_lang=1&live_configurator_token=8f63a8939f73796696b9798dd0d21785&id_shop=1&id_employee=1&theme=&theme_font=#/kenyan_coffee-_kilo Paul

sweetyarracoffee
but umm how does it affect the stock quantity?
Naldinho
Because attributes don't impact quantity the stock will be reduced by the same amount regardless of how many KG the customer orders. What you could do is split your inventory into four inventories (or any number I just used 4 because the example had 4) so you'd take the 120kg and have 32 1kg bags 15 2kg bags 10 3kg bags 7 4kg bags this way the attribute would impact the specific stock for that attribute. This is far from a perfect solution as you'd need to rebalance the stock and you'd also run into issues if all of a sudden there was a run on one particular size. If you are fine with making the increments full KGs then you can just specify that the price is per kg then add discounts using specific prices like this This will take 10% off for 2kg, 20% off for 3kg, 30% off foe 4kg. The discount amount can be either as a percent or a fix amount. If you want to sell ½ KG then it gets harder to do it elegantly. You could just say the price is per ½ KG but that is counterintuitive to have to enter Quantity 2 to buy 1kg. If selling in ½ increments is important I'd look at editing the code. It should be pretty easy to change it so that the quantity increases by 0.5. I am actually in a similar situation. I want to sell products in fixed amounts of 25/50/100/250/500/1000/2500 so using attributes was Paulito suggested was my first idea. I don't use inventory management so don't have to worry about the stock levels but I would need to edit all the places where the hardwired quantity shows up which is a pain. Kind of hoping someone has a suggestion for a module that allows using fixed quantities without making it an attribute.
