Display subcategory items in the main category

Hi, I have a strange issue - I have a category with 2 subcategories and their items are appearing in the main category, though they are linked only to the sub one's.

I want to make the same with my other categories - but the items are not appearing in the main category, only in the sub ones.

How do I make them appear in the main category (except for linking an item to the main category and the sub one.

turn on block layered navigation module, open module configuration page and turn on displaying products on "parent" categories.

there is an option to turn it on :-)
