Reusing already uploaded product images

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Is it possible in Prestashop 1.6 to use already used product images instead of uploading the same image again in order to be able to assign it to another product?

Ex.: In my case, I'm configuring a Prestashop store that will sale paintings. Each painting will have "Frame" attribute. At least 10 different frames will be available for each of 300-400+ paintings.

I would like to reuse these frame images, because they will be all the same.

Or if I take another approach, how can I have an image for each attribute and when the attribute is selected the related image is also displayed?

My understanding is that I can have different combinations with appropriate image for each combinations, but in my case when most of the images will be the same it doesn't make sense to upload so many of them.

Thanks a lot!

Thank you for your answer. Having a different image for each product makes a lot of sense, but is it possible to have image for each attribute?

Or does a module that allow uploading images to attributes exists?

Hello, I am also very interested in finding a solution for the same problem. Did you manage to solve this?

I have to use the same picture for several products and is no sense to upload several times the same picture.....

Thank you

Hi,

I couldn't find an easy solution for this problem I was having at that time and I gave up on PrestaShop (not only for that - I needed more features and functionality that could be accomplished with costly modules only). You could search for an image manager module, but I'm not sure if it will do what you want.
