Showing a Different Product based on previous Product Selection

I am not very good at explaining things so I will try my best...

 

What I am looking to do is something similiar to this.

 

Lets say, initially, I only have three products visible to the shopper for them to choose:

 

Product "A" "B" and "C"

 

If the shopper picks product "B" then product "B" get's added to the shopping cart and three new products become available (on the same page). Let's call them:

 

Products "B1" "B2" and "B3"

 

Then, let's pretend the shopper picks product "B1". "B1" get's added to the shopping cart and more products become available until there are no more products to choose.

 

I've searched these forums and google using the following keywords, but have not found what I am looking for. Partly because I may be using the wrong termonology.

"customization"

"product tree"

 

So my question is - is something like this possible? If so, what is it called and/or where can I go to read up more on how to implement something like this.

I figured out what needs to be done. Use expanding and collapsing divs.
