nkassebaum
I'm working on a site and I need to change the main navigation. This is a custom theme and if you view source or view any of the theme images you'll see their directory is /luckykratom/img/ etc. As far as I know, the theme files SHOULD exist in the directory /luckykratom/themes/LuckyKratom/ etc. None of the changes made to any of those .tpl files are showing up. I can see the markup I need to edit inside the header.tpl file in the LuckyKratom directory, but when making changes they are not showing up on the front end. Am I changing things in the wrong location? I've read up on smarty cache and done everything I've been advised as far as that goes. I know it would be hard to see things clearly without access to the files directory, but I am so stumped here. Contacting the original theme designer is out of the question as well. benjamin utterback
Hi, it's really difficult to tell where it is without a link to the site you are referring to. Are you sure the file is not located within a module? In the themes/yourtheme/modules you have many modules that also include a tpl file. You might want to check that out. Of course, make sure you have a backup too!
benjamin utterback
What are you trying to change exactly? Here is the URL for anybody joining in, http://luckykratom.com/index.php?
nkassebaum
Two areas- the main navigation of the site and above the header area where the logo and the "wake up and live" text is. It looks like the related markup is in the /themes/luckyKratom/header.tpl file but when making the changes, (and they save, and show as recently edited in FileZilla) no changes show up on the front end. I don't believe I'm editing the right file since cacheing is turned off at the server level, and I have cacheing turned off in the Performance tab, as well as Force Compile enabled. edit: However, if that isn't the right file, I'm totally at a loss as where the right file could be. I've checked all over the directories looking for anything related to the markup in the section I need to edit, and am having zero luck finding anyhting similar. benjamin utterback
Hi, have you looked into themes/luckykratom/css/*luckykratom_style.css ?
nkassebaum
Checking it currently.. not seeing anything of use. I need to make changes to the markup, it does not seem like it would be in any css page.
benjamin utterback
It seems like you are looking in the right place. I know that you said you cleared the cache but lets try doing it again. Advanced Parameters>Performance> Turn off Cache and click the clear cache. Then go into your FTP and find cache/smarty/compile cache/smarty/cache img/tmp Delete all the files in the folders, except of index.php. Try that and let me know if that works. Thanks! nkassebaum
Well, did that (made a backup of all of it too) and updated the header.tpl file I need to be editing, and still not seeing changes apparent on the homepage. If this were the right file and right way to edit things, seeing this much of a lag after every change I would need to make is not an ideal way to edit the site regardless. I don't think I'm editing the right file, but after going through the sites file directory, I don't see anything else that could be related to this markup at all. Is it possible the files its pulling from are not located on this server?

nkassebaum
Its specific to my situation.. the website host I was accessing was the issue. The entire site was moved from one host to a new one recently and I was simply editing files on the wrong server. It took looking up the site on a whois.net to see what the nameservers the site was pulling from were.
