img/tmp_products_mini files do not update after products change?

I am using prestashop 1.4 and after changing some of the products, we noticed the img/tmp_products_mini files for the thumbnails on orders do not update with the new uploaded files?  The products in the shop do have mini thumbnails, it's just that when I replace the images in the /p/ folder and regenerate thumbnails, all thumbnails are being regenerated except those in the /tmp/ folder.

Anyone has an idea for how to make sure they are updated? I am not looking for the regenerate the thumbnails as it will regenerate everything and it is very slow, any other ways to regenerate the thumbnail seperately? Or have any solutions to make the img/tmp_products_mini files updated with the products change and updates?

these files will not change after image change, and also will not be changed if you for example remove product images, or even product. When it will work like that (changing images, removing pictures with product remove) customer will not see correct image just simple image with [?] question mark in order history. All of this is to avoid problem with pictures for old archived orders.

So according to my understanding, there is no way to fix it? And these photos will only be deleted from server when I delete the product, right? Thanks

So the products images on previous orders will become [?] after deleting the products? Any better suggestions for my situations here? Should I just delete the items instead of replacing them? Thanks

no these images will not be removed even if you delete product from shop

this is why images for orders are stored in this directory.
