The newsletter function in Prestashop is very elementary. It just gathers information and then lets you export it. Unless you use a paid module, you don't actually send a Newsletter from PS and it takes a bit more work to use the info. However, you can export the lists and import into MailChimp, a free and very good newsletter service, allows you to create mobile friendly newsletters. I have used it for about 3 years.

Search modules for "Newsletter". The "Newsletter block" appears on your site for people to enter their email and signup. Configure to set a few options.

There are 2 modules called "Newsletter" one is for adding stats to your dashboard, the other is to generate a CSV (comma separated value) file. If you install the CSV, then you can export the lists as .csv files, which you can open in Excel and similar apps.

The lists are terrible and have all the information badly formatted. If you know Excel, this can be fixed in a few seconds. In Excel, select the 1st column, then use Data, Text to Columns and separate by Delimited, semicolon. I delete everything but the lastname, firstname and email. Found this short tutorial on Youtube showing how to do it (they show separating info by "space", PS is separated by "semicolon").

This imports easily into Mailchimp.

It does take a few steps, but is doable in a less than 5 minutes. A decent tool to gather subscribers to your newsletter, especially with free MailChimp newsletters.

Good luck.
