How to delete the black area (banner) on top of front-end page

Hi,

 

I have managed to disable the top banner and delete the "call us now toll free....", but I'm still left with a black area on the top of the front-end page where it says contact us and sign in.  See attachment

 

I can't see in blockbanner css anything relating to this black area.

 

Where can I delete it?

 

I also wanted to delete the background colour in the blockcart area, but again I can not see background colour in the blockcart css

 

Where can I delete this?

 

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

To properly hide the black banner containing "Call us now toll free…", "Contact us" and/or "Sign in", you have to unhook BlockContact, BlockUserInfo modules, and eventually BlockLanguages and BlockCurrencies, that are transplanted (hooked) in the "displayTop" position (see BO > Modules > Positions).

Or to achieve the same result more radically and easily: disable, uninstall or delete all modules that display something in this black top banner, I mean BlockContact, BlockUserInfo, BlockLanguages and BlockCurrencies. But you may loose some fonctionalities, brought by these modules, that appeared elsewhere (in other positions).

Thanks for the advise. 

 

I would like to keep the contact us and sign in, but I don't want the black colour. 

 

Does anybody know in which folder and in which css or php etc. is the black colour determined for the top banner?

The black nav bar background is part of the global.css file at line 5279 looks like this:

 

header .nav {

    background: #333333; }

 

If you remove the color you will also need to adjust the color of any text contained within the nav bar ie: contact, sign in.

 

The toll free # that is in this bar was removed in 1.6.0.5 so I assume you are using 1.6.0.4 or earlier.

In those versions it is in the header.tpl file however these versions were not meant for actual online store but for testing.

Actually I just redownloaded and reinstalled PrestaShop 1.6.0.5, and the "Call us now toll free" mention is there for good. Maybe tdr170 is referring to the online PrestaShop demo. I realized that the online PrestaShop demo doesn't reflect the current PrestaShop official version fresh install, at the time I am writing these lines. Some bugs are corrected, so the online demo is some kind of version 1.6.0.5.x.

I actually took another look at the nav bar (800) issue and this was removed after the Alpha release so sorry my bad.

The Toll free is coded into the blockcontact module in nav.tpl look to line 30.

@ alyas786: I think that simply unhooking the BlockContact module from the "displayTop" position (see BO > Modules > Positions) will do the trick, as suggested earlier in this discussion.
