Prestashop, error 500 and Hostgator

Recommended Posts

I want to let the people know the scams that are happening on Hostgator:

I have a shared account with a couple of sites on it, including a Prestashop based one.

After trying like ten times to update some stuff on my site with a csv import on Prestashop's Backoffice, i received the "error 500" message each and every time i tried to update.

Important notice: my csv file has 4 rows, and 2 columns!!!

Here is part of the reply of the support ticket:

Unfortunately, we cannot allow this process to be ran on the server as it affects other customers as well as the server performance. In order to be able to import this file, you are either going to have to split this file into separate .csv files to reduce the size of it, or you may need to start looking into upgrading into a VPS or dedicated server where you do not have resource limits set per account as you have full access to the server and its resources.

What are they saying? That for a 4 rows and 2 columns csv file i need a VPS?

I totally hate Hostgator!

What about you?
