PS_Dude
Hi, Hoping someone can help me understand prestashop's capabilities a bit better... I've been tinkering with prestashop for a few days and so far I like it -- it will do everything I can think I'll need for a web store. However, I want to create more of a manufacturer's website with shopping capability, than just a place to purchase products. By that I mean... (a) it should look like a catalog (w/o the my account, cart, payment type sections, etc) but when drilling down to the individual product level, it should show an add-to-cart button. Yes, there would still be subtle links to get account info, view cart, etc on some pages. I expect I can do all of this with some tweaking of themes. ( I'd like to add other pages for technical info, gallery, company info, dealers, etc. This would make prestashop one of the pages. Is this doable? © Additionally, I'd like to create some very specific functionality which I'm not sure I can do, or how I can do with prestashop. For example, I want to create a product category that then shows a table. Each cell would have say 0 to 4 links, and each link would be to a specific product page. Can this be done? (d) If I did the above, how would it function on the mobile version? I don't mind paying someone to do this, but want to know if it's capable of this. Also, what language would be used to do this? Basic HTML? Or something else? Thanks.
vekia
a) yes, you can do it with modification of theme yes, you can do it with CMS pages (preferences > CMS) c) yes, you can do it with modification of theme d) you just have to use responsive theme, then everything will work as you want, just a little bit tweaking of code is necessary what lagnuage? smarty, html, css
PS_Dude
Thanks vekia. I've figured out the CMS pages for #2 now, but i need to learn how to create/modify themes to get #1 and #3. I'm going to do this incrementally, so I'm working on getting the catalog version of the site up first.
