cannot disable cache from backoffic

I need to disble cache from backoffice for update.

It just willl not disable!!

What to to?

1.5.3.1 and i want to update to 1.5.6.1

I'm curious which cache?  There are 3-4 of them under performance.

the general filesystem cache, the last one on the performance page

ps will need  write access to  config/settings.inc.php

 

here you will find the 'type' of cache and the enable/disable switch

check your permissions or you can modify with an editor
