No reaction during image upload

In my Presta 1.5.4.1 I'm trying to upload a  product image, but after choosing file from my HD Presta does simply nothing What could be wrong?

I've used that version of Prestashop, and no problem uploading the images; using as shared server.

 

Just off the top of my head, not sure if any of these will help:

 

1.  Check the file size and type set in your Prestashop settings - sometimes the file type of size is not set there.

2.  If that is not the issue, check in your server image settings (you might need to ask your host about that) - some server hosts limit uploads to types or sizes, you can ask them to adjust it.

3.  Check the file extension, e.g. Jpg might not be accepted, but jpg might.  I found sometimes the capitalization makes a difference.

4.  Check your image file name, sometimes names that are too long can cause a problem, so I try use simple alphabetical names 8 characters or less, all lowercase.

 

That's all I can think of for now.
