having some really inconsistent errors with Prestashop

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I've built a client site on Prestashop (using multistore as there are two domains). http://petiteannee.ch/ and http://petiteannee.com/. So far the project has been a nightmare as the client is constantly emailing me on nearly a daily basis with very inconsistent errors. He has been spending a lot more time on the site to test that me lately, I have not personaly come accross any of these errors, but he has sent me screenshots. The errors range from random pages showing the wrong language for certain parts, just today he said he had tried a test order, and after creating a new account it took him straight to the payment options page (instead of the addresses page) during the checkout process.

I am completely lost and very stressed with all of this, because usually bugs are consistent, therefore if there was a problem in the code, the bug should be replicated every time, but with this set up, bugs are inconsistent and just happen randomly.

Any suggestions on what I can try as the client is now saying prestashop is not good enough and we need to change platforms.

Regards,

Aaron

Yes of course, that's not a problem. I forgot to state another major problem, my client (and he was told by another person) sometimes does not see the delete button for products in the shopping cart to remove the items.

I've just done another test order in internet explorer with no problems, which is the browser he apparently had problems with this morning. I am just so puzzled to these inconsistencies and with that I cannot track down any bugs if they only happen "sometimes".

Thanks again

Yes I never get any issues either, but I have been sent screenshots of the errors mentioned above.

Since I started the development of the site, there has been a lot of upgrades to both prestashop (currently using the latest version 1.5.5.0) and the theme I based my design on: http://themeforest.net/item/dilecta-responsive-prestashop-theme/4225676

These have all been hard to keep track of. Do you think I might have to consider a complete clean install and re-create everything again using the latest verions of prestashop and the theme?

Thanks

Well I have tried to post several of these errors separately before, but I never get much luck with a proper answer/solution.

The client claims that yesterday that the site wasn't even showing the products in the afternoon. How is something like that even possible when no modifications etc were being made to the site?

Thanks again
