Hello all

Suddently out of the sky I now receive this error on front office Prestashop 1.5.5.0

Looks ugly to me.

Is this a Prestashop error or related to my server ???

Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'SmartyException' with message 'unable to write file /home/eldatech/www/shop/cache/smarty/compile/6d/a8/dd/wrt523ca1c6853209.83321410' in /home/eldatech/www/shop/tools/smarty/sysplugins/smarty_internal_write_file.php:44 Stack trace: #0 /home/eldatech/www/shop/tools/smarty/sysplugins/smarty_internal_template.php(201): Smarty_Internal_Write_File::writeFile('/home/eldatech/...', '<?php /* Smarty...', Object(Smarty)) #1 /home/eldatech/www/shop/tools/smarty/sysplugins/smarty_internal_templatebase.php(155): Smarty_Internal_Template->compileTemplateSource() #2 /home/eldatech/www/shop/tools/smarty/sysplugins/smarty_internal_template.php(286): Smarty_Internal_TemplateBase->fetch(NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, false, false, true) #3 /home/eldatech/www/shop/cache/smarty/compile/ab/d0/24/abd0247a361a74faf8420ead8222a1ec04579623.file.blocksearch-top.tpl.php(59): Smarty_Internal_Template->getSubTemplate('/home/eldatech/...', 'blocksearch-top...', NULL, NULL, NULL, Array, 0) #4 /home/eldatech/www/shop/tools/smar in /home/eldatech/www/shop/tools/smarty/sysplugins/smarty_internal_write_file.php on line 44

make sure that the two following folders permissions are 755 and subfolder/files is 644

happened out of the blue?  odd, possible your hosting provider did something, like change you to fastcgi or something.

/cache/smarty/compile/

/cache/smarty/cache/

Yes they are all 755

Yes out of the blue.

I have been using Prestashop for many days now and even the whole day today.

Suddently it happened on the front office only.

I went into admin and cleared smart cache from there then front office worked again, but just for a little while until the same happened. Then after just a few minutes it happened on the back office too an now I am not able to get in at all.

I do have backups though.

Could it be that the cache folders are sort of filled up so that I dont have permission to write files anymore ?

can you post the link to that fix here just in case other community members have similar problem.  thanks

I don't know what my provided did on their server.

I just talked to them and they checked their linux server, found a problem and solved it.
