Removing top permanent links and SEO ?

Hi there, quick question I'm in the process of renovating my store and was wondering if disabling permanent links on top with Site Map,Contact would interfere with google SEO ? I've heard one of my friends that it might be a problem for google and positioning of the site. 

 

Is it ok to disable it ? I can move it to the footer of the shop if it does. Thanks in advance.

well, im not a seo specialist, but in my opinion it isn't true.

if your friend thinks that these links are bad for SEO, it would be appropriate to delete the entire header with menu links, login link, cart links etc.

 

it's sound a bit ridiculous, don't you think?

yeah but he said that google uses the "Site Map" to have a better look at links etc. i'm no SEO expert therfore I'm asking ;]

well, in this case he has got a bit right i think, im also not seo expert but i know somethnig little about it.

But in my opinion it doesn't matter where you will have url to sitemap
