search an part of reference

I have a problem with the search engine

 

On our old Oscommerce website you can search of a part of the reference

 

For instance of i have a product that has the name MIK03077 i can search it with only 3077

 

In Presta shop you can find product on mik03

 

If you do a search on 3077 it won't find a thing, our customers search for parts and only use the reference of part of the reference as a search

 

Is there any way to fix this

You can try to solve this by stating the aliases in Preferences > Search for search keywords.

This is not a solution because we also have product that have reference TR HS1023 and you need to find them only typing 1023 in search.

 

In the back office you can find the product only typing the last numbers of the product, the front end must use the same engine ?

Business logic implementing front and backend search is different.

As for aliases, I've tried to reproduce situation and assigned synonim "1023" to result search word "TR HS1023" and frontend search found the product with reference TR HS1023 correctly. You can also set chains of "etalon" search word synonims using alias tool.
