Access to Back Office denied? Error says "delete /install folder

Recommended Posts

Updated Softaculous yesterday, then denied access to control panel. Error message says:

" For security reasons, you cannot connect to the Back Office until after you have:

  • deleted the /install folder "

My store isn't up yet, just in production phase. Any advice much appreciated :) . Thanks

Good morning

When using Softaculous you are always asked to Delete "Install" file and change Admin123 etc to Adminxxxxxxxxx

This always happens for new installs and upgrades

It's for security

Hope this helps

Paul

Re-Installing this folder is not a normal behavior of prestashop. I would search "around" prestashop.

1. Have you a cron or other kind of scheduled service running at night. If yes, what do they do?

2. Can you track down the time it happens.

3. What is the date/timestamp from the install folder when it is recreated?

4. Can you match this timestamp with some automated activity on your machine?

I have just realised there is a cron job running.. see below. Its not something I set up and it seems it only begun on thr 27th July and happens the same time each day.

/etc/cron.daily/drweb-update:
Dr.Web update details:
Update server: http://update.nsk1.drweb.com/plesk/700/unix
Update has begun at Thu Jul 21 06:38:09 2016
Update has finished at Thu Jul 21 06:38:12 2016

Following files have been updated:
        /var/drweb/bases/drwdaily.vdb
        /var/drweb/bases/drwtoday.vdb
        /var/drweb/bases/dwmtoday.vdb
        /var/drweb/bases/dwntoday.vdb
        /var/drweb/bases/dwrtoday.vdb
        /var/drweb/bases/timestamp
        /var/drweb/updates/timestamp

We don't know the contents of the cron script. The files mentionned above do NOT seem to have any relevance to prestashop.

1. can you check the file which is linked above? We cannot since we don't have access to your machine.

2. try to disable the cron for some days to see if the problem is solved. If not, I would recommend to turn the cron ON again.
