Change shipping costs

I sell wine online.

For big volumes I offer a custom delivery, but got into a few discussions with clients.

I can't set the price for this delivery at the time of the order because it al depends on the location of the client.

I added a new carrier 'custom delivery' and put the explanation (not free etc), but as I can't give a price so on the order confirmation the shipping is set to 0 as well on the page where the client needs to choose the type of carrier.

Where can I set the last column to a none numeric value (see attachment). I tried to set the price to 'TBD' but that isn't accepted.

I'm not sure this is the solution, but I have a module to set a shipping price depending on the zipcode of the client :

Unfortunately this isn't the solution I'm looking for. I would like to have 'TBD - to be determined - instead of 'free' even if for this carrier the shipping cost is set to 0.
