The number of tickets will be limited and sold on a first come, first served basis. I've heard that it is important that the system does not allow customer to place tickets in their shopping cart but then not complete the shopping process sometimes for a long time. We are expecting a rush of sales as soon as the events are announced. Is there any way to put an expiry time on the items when they are in the cart? I've seen this myself when buying concert tickets as the system tells you to complete the sale within X minutes or you have to start over again. Can we do this with prestashop? benjamin utterback Posted July 29, 2013 Share Posted July 29, 2013 Hi jen00, by default with no module, you could put an alert on each product page that says something like "Your products will be in your cart for only 1 hour!" Then you can set the cookie lifetime setting to 1 hour. When the hour is up, the cookie for the cart will be removed the the product will be back an add the quantity to the inventory. Preferences>General>Lifetime of Front Office cookies. It won't be a time limit that is active but you will be able to announce to your customers. benjamin utterback Posted July 29, 2013 Share Posted July 29, 2013 It basically will knock out your customers carts after 1 hour. Ideally, you should keep the cookies on longer in-case a customer wants to shop around for a bit and come back the next day. Everybody likes to see the website that remembers the items you had in your cart! Turning it to one hour will mean that it will be gone after one hour. Much like the TV infomercials that say "But wait! Order in the next 30 minutes and you'll get blah blah" It's a more psychological call to action.
