How to set the default status of an order / product ?

I am having this challenge at the moment.

 

 

When a customer buys a book in my store, he will receive an email with the order confirmation.

I guess this is because the default status for a purchase is the Payment Accepted and because I chose the email template "Order.conf" for the status.

 

BUT when a customer buys a downloadable product I want him to receive the email with the link to the download and this is the template "Product.download" and I can not set two email templates for the same status.

 

So my question is:

 

What to do if I want the customer to automatically receive a normal confirmation when they buy a book and a different confirmation with download link, when he buys a downloadable product?

 

I can change the status depending on the payment method I guess but that will not help me.

 

Any suggestions?

i dont have a solution, but i use a link in my account for downloads. use this free module
