Upgrade theme from 1.4.4 to 1.5.x

Hello everybody!

 

I have a theme I had purchased when 1.4.4.0 was released.

I am thinking of upgrading my website to the latest 1.5.x version.

 

Can you please give me suggestions on how I get started with porting the theme from 1.4.4.0 to 1.5.x

 

how much time do you think it will take to complete the task ?

 

Will it ever be the same ?

 

Right now when I install it on a 1.5 .x

everything is misaligned - search box overlapps the search button etc.

How should I start fixing it ?

 

Will just editing the global.css file will make it all look good once again or any other file will need editing too ?
