Put a product automatically in a certain category if its on sale?

i'd like to put products automatically in a special category if they're on sale.

 

So i think i shoulnd't be a big thing with smarty, but i don't know where (in which file) i have to do this.

 

Could anyone help me please? It would be so great to get this thing done.
