You must be kidding?! (quick adding good to basket from listings)

Recommended Posts

Situation

What if we have an a good with big (or not) amount of different options (for example laptop HDD, RAM, Display etc) and we try to add it quickly to the basket?
What will be placed there? Good with which options?!

I think it will be more correctly if after clicking on "add to basket" will thickbox shown with all options for selected good. When user fill the showed form he click "Continue" and good goes to basket.

If this is not implemented yet I will do it by myself and share with others but I wanna know if there is somebody who thought that this way of adding will be more correctly?

ps. sorry for grammar - english is not my native language but I hope you understand what I want

hi

it will always be added with the default options you declare in the backend catalog for this product.

Do you think this is ok?

For example we sell t-shirts and visitors add them to basket with default size (XL) :)

In Russia we have proverb "Buy cat in the bag" (you don't know exactly what you buying) :)

I'll try to develop it in next 24 hrs.

How about that you simply remove BUY button and leave only one that points to VIEW product?

My client insist on quick adding from listing pages. BTW I don't see this behaviour at any shop and I think this is rather strange.

I can understaind that client insists on something like that (couse hes ignorant in these matters) but you must explain to him how things work.
Direct BUY button buys one product.
If you have customisable products that is just not possible becouse shopper must execute selection or you must declare each possible variant as unique product. It is just the way things work.

Or you can execute some heavy coding & customisation on product list by adding some ayax to allow customers to directly select product options.

Try to hire someone to do the customisation on www.getafreelancer.com
