1.5 Cart Rules, MASSIVE QUESTION ;-)

Recommended Posts

Hi Everybody, First of all, HAPPY New Year Everyone !!!

I know prestashop for ten years and i love it. (but i am not an expert). I am very disapointed cause i have chosen prestashop 1.5 (1.5.2) to do an important project and now, i am loosing days and days...

Impossible to do an easy cart rule such as " 10% on a category ". I may mistake but... cart rules in 1.5 looks full of bugs...

If you do the cart rule : 10% from 100€ ttc on a category... it BUGS !!!

if the customer reduce quantity manually in the order, he will get the discount of 10% even if he does'nt buy 100€.

The Case :

The customers take 3 shirt at 35€ttc in the category "shirts" (in which we do promo) and another product in another category without cart rule. He get 10% discount, then he clic on the cart to go to order, then he delete his other product and reduced manually quantity from 3 to 1 shirt, the cart rule stay (cause the page does'nt reload) so he has 10% on his only shirt of 35€...

Do i dream ? or I am right ?

Would you try this and tell me what happened for you ?

Help a poor lost fish is a good way to begin this new year in noble way :-)

On 1.5.3.1. this scenario with voucher for -10% on orders above 100 'some currency' in certain categories is working for me.

When I remove one item and total becomes under 100 currency the code disappers and if you again make your total over 100 it can be added to your order otherwise it says " You have not reached the minimum amount required to use this voucher"

Hi Rampage,

Thanks for answering. I am very afraid of upgrading to 1.5.3.1 cause i have readen that there is a lot of bugs, and some experts and legends advice to stay in 1.5.2 for now. So does 1.5.3.1 works without bug for you?

Yes. Just follow the instructions and first update your autoupdate module, then your installation and then follow the end instructions (clear cache/cookies/regenerate thumbnails/etc).

At the moment my installation is in 'working-lish' condition. I mean - I have no frontend bugs, stoppers, registrations and ordering processes run smoothly with few customisations useful for me and that's all.

I still I'm noticing few problems but they're here from 1.5.2 at least and obviously nobody else have them so I think they're hosting related (cache problems and shippers errors) but for both of them there's workaround and I'm prepping for customers import and going live

There's only a nasty problem with PayPal and 'not supported currency' but obviously this is from PayPals side and they have nothing to do. It's there from many versions back. But there's also a fix - I could recommend my customers to switch to $ on checkout and it would be OK.

There are more bugs to be fixed though (google sitemap not friendly on product links - A MUST!!!, no UTF support in friendly URLs - A MUST!!!, etc) but it's going slowly in thee 'STABLE direction'
