doclucas
Hi, I am very interested to shift to Presta, but need to find out a bit more info first. I have an osCommerce shop with the QTpro (quantity tracking) module. The purpose of the QT pro module is to control the attributes stock for products such as rings. For example: Main product - Ring (quantity is a combination of all the below attributes quantity, ie 44 pcs) Product Attributes: size 10: 12 pcs in stock size 11: 7 pcs in stock size 12: 5 pcs in stock size 13: 20 pcs in stock When a customer wants to purchase this ring, he can only add the attributes to his cart and when checking out, their stock is being subtracted and the main ring stock is being subtracted accordingly. For example: customer purchased size 11 - 2pcs size 13 - 4pcs total: 6 pcs will be deducted from the main ring and at the end it will be: Ring 38 pcs Product Attributes: size 10: 12 pcs in stock size 11: 5 pcs in stock size 12: 5 pcs in stock size 13: 16 pcs in stock I know Magento, for example, can do that out of the box without modifications, and maybe other carts too. The question is, can presta do that out of the box? If so, how? If not, is there a module or way to make it do that? Thanks a lot for your response/s! tomerg3
Prestashop handles attributes in the same way, each different attribute combination for a product has its own stock. Did you give it a try on the Prestashop demo site?
doclucas
Yes, I actually installed it and couldn't figure out how to do that at all. Let's say I want to add 1 product, like the example I given, a ring, with several sizes. How exactly can this be achieved? Thanks for your assistance. tomerg3
Check the example of the iPod Shuffle that comes with the default Prestashop installation, go the edit the product, and then the combination tab.
doclucas
Wow! That's awesome! One last question: is there any way/module to add multiple attributes to the shopping cart with 1 click or even better - is there a way to add multiple products AND attributes to the cart with 1 "add to cart" click or similar way? Thank you! Edited December 9, 2012 by doclucas (see edit history)
