Differing default product images for each category

My store has t-shirts that come in both men and women cuts, although the designs are the same. My earlier Prestashop was configured with two separate products per design - one for men and one for women. This easily allowed me to set the default images that would be shown per category, and still allow a customer to choose a Men's t-shirt while they were browsing in the women's category.

 

Now, this would work as well with 1.5 - however I would like to start making full use of the stock management functionality which would not work if I was to set things up the same way as before.

 

Does anyone know if it is possible to change the default image per product depending on the category it is being displayed in ?
