Digital Download Orders - Auto set order status

I have a feeling this is an issue for many owners who sell both physical items AND digital downloads.

 

How can you automatically set an order that is digital download ONLY as a different order status so it is easy to know which orders require shipping and which ones don't?

 

there must be a way to script this some how.

 

IE: check if an order contains only digitally delivered items and set it to 'delivered'

 

i've tried to ask the developer of Agile Paypal to make this happen but his methods didn't work

This should be possible. Hopefully Agile PayPal would extend PaymentModule therefore you would have to override PaymentModule with some custom code to make this happen.

 

You would have to override the validateOrder function.
