Error 404 when access to admin

Problem occures with PS 1.5 :

- I have two shops

- shop 1 under URL http://www.mydomain.com

- shop 2 under URI (virtual) http://www.mydomain.com/shop2

- URL rewrite is on

- originally, my base directory was protected by paswword (via htaccess)

- everything was fine

 

Then, I removed the proytection of base directory

and wanted to apply the protection to the admin directory (called admin_renamed).

 

Since I applied the protection to the admin directory, I receive error 404 when tryin to connect to :

http://mydomain/admin_renamed/login.php

 

When I remove the short URL option (under preference/SEO&URL), I can access the http://mydomain/admin_renamed/login.php

But, shop 2 is no more accessible because it needs virtual URL.

 

Is there a specific procedure to set protection for admin directory when multishop is active?

Add to the previous post :

 

The problem is linked with SEO&URL.

 

Shop1 has no virtual URI, therefore adresse is www.mydomain.com as stand alone.

 

When deactivating for shop1 (the one without virtual URI) URL rewrite and redirect to homepage options, then I cann access to the admin with password.

 

Do you know if it is mandatory to assign a virtual URI for each shop in PS 1.5?

Problem solved.

 

 

When you change URL rewrite parameter in preference/seo&url in multi-shop mode:

- make sure your base directory is in written mode (CHMOD)

- apply change for each shop

 

 

Then, it works
