Editing the translation for front office (manually)

Hi all,

 

I have the following error, which I believe (from reading other threads here) is due to my server's php.ini configuration, but I cant do that as I am trying to run my store from a hosting account,

can someone kindly point me in the direction to edit the file manually via FTP? I have tried going to the lang folder and editing the en.php file, but it doesnt have the translations in it, am I doing something wrong?

it's hard to say but you can't translate your page without "translation feature". Or it will be a little hard. Which version of prestashop you use?

 

if prestashop 1.5+ - in my opinion great way to translate without shop "translation feature" is:

1. go to localization -> translations tab
   
2. find an "Export a language" section
   
3. export selected language and download it
   
4. edit translation files - but remember! you must change only translated strings! If you change hashcode then translation wouldnt work!
