Add functionality or override some admin parts

Hi everyone, I need to add some extra functionality to my orders list module at admin level basically I need to check if a order has more than five days in determinate status and if so then change the background color to red or show some kind of message. It's possible to override a AdminTab? Which is the best approach to do that? Any help?
