Updating 1.4.6.2 to 1.5.1 (or swaping data?)

Hi,

 

I currently have 1.4.6.2, I'd like to move to 1.5.1.

From what I've read overt the last few days it's highly tricky.

 

A parallel setup

 

What I'd like to know is if you could take out the /img/ folder and swap it over then get the product & category data/mapping and pasting that in to the new store.

 

Would that make the products and categories show up and work in 1.5.1?

 

I have Store Comander as well but I don't have a csv for the categories.

Store currently has 48.000 products.
