Invoice Shipping help with PrestaShop™ 1.4.8.2

Hello! I need help as fast as possible with my site! I am using PrestaShop™ 1.4.8.2 because when I tried upgrading, it messed up my whole store and had to be reverted back.

 

My Problem is....I need to learn how to approve each order before the customer pays for it so that I can figure custom shipping. I can NOT do my own shipping pricing as a set pricing as it will vary depending on if someone orders more than one item. I will be combing as many items in my boxes as possible depending on what they order! I make carved candles and have my shipping prices fixed fine if they order ONE carved candle but if they order two, I can help save them money depending on what size they are ordering!

 

For example, shipping for one large carved candle is a flat 15.00, a small, 10.00 but I could combine two large in one box for 18.00 but at check out, they would be charged $30 as it is set right now. This is why it would be much easier to approve each order and figure shipping and then send a invoice or adjust shipping charges before the customers credit card is charged!!

 

I also need to be able to approve each order as I take custom orders too. I have yet set my store up for this as I do not know how!!

 

I have yet been able to take any orders on my site due to my shipping being messed up. Please help as I have major health issues and need to be able to sell my candles to help pay for my medical expenses right now!!!
