Multiple stores on subdirectories

Recommended Posts

Much thanks for the response. One thing I am having some trouble with is that I tried in the back office, but I dont know what to enter into the new shop -> settings fields. I tried a few things, but when I tried to look at the multi-store catalog there was only 404 error, so probably I am not setting the fields correctly. What do I put into each field on the new shop->settings page, if I want to set up a multi-store on a subdirectory?

Thanks Greatly

Hi, much thanks for the responses,

I am looking at this documentation about multi-store right now, and it seems to suggest that "store groups" mainly allow the group's member stores to "share". Is it best that each multi-store, that has a completely different set of products, should be placed in it's own group? Also, can customers and orders be shared between stores in the same group without sharing carts? Also, can store data be imported from stores in other groups?

Thanks again greatly.

I think I need to same info - I've added a new store with a URL of "blah.mysite.com" for example, but when I go to that URL I get a 404 error. I've added the subdirectory on my host (cPanel) as well (aimed at the Prestashop directory) but still no go.

Exactly. It seems there are some bugs here. Also should store groups being used for stores with completely different sets of products? Can customers and orders be shared between stores in the same group without sharing carts?

Thanks

Seems to work on the latest SVN 1.5.0.14 - did the same thing as before:

1. Enter URL details for new shop.

2. Go to cPanel Subdomains and add domain (with path pointed to the directory Prestashop is installed in)

3. Wait for a while (haven't checked how long yet) and it seems to work. I did steps 1 and 2 last night and just went to the URL now and it's fine.

Hi

What about for:

www.somedomain.com/multi-store1

www.somedomain.com/multi-store2

www.somedomain.com/multi-store3

what would be the steps and how would the shop url info fields be filled out?

Thanks

My understanding is that in that case, Prestashop will modify the .htaccess file automatically so that it knows which shop to show on which URL. So you would enter www.somedomain.com/multi-store1 as the domain for the store you want there and PS should change the .htaccess for you. I don't do my shops' URLs like that though so I'm not 100% sure, sorry. Good luck!
