Some orders keep coming through with no shipping

Recommended Posts

For some reason some orders have absolutly no shipping charges on them. It's not all the orders just some free shipping is set to 0 for the price and weight so that disables free shipping.

I charge by weight and every weight bracket is filled in on the shiping charges section.

According to the back office home page I am running PrestaShop™ 1.4.0.17 however I do remember upgrading and the version didn't change so although it said upgrade successful the version number didn't change. Not sure if my shop did upgrade or not but it still worked so I decided not to tinker too much.

I think it appears that the no shipping charge is only on orders by some registered users not guests.

Any ideas on places to start looking at to see where this is coming from?

Make sure you have a weight for every product. Look carefully to the orders with no shpping charges. Is there anything common: addresses, product, total, shipping method, user etc?

Upgrade question is more involed and the problem you are seeing may be due to it but it requires access to back office, your server etc and not doable easily via forums. You may want to seek professional advice in job offers forum.

I've checked weight and they do have a weight and it´s the same as the others that work. I think the common factor is people who are registered seem to have no shipping charges, people who checkout as a guest have a shipping charge.

Area isn´t the same as I´ve had a european and a worldwide order come through as no shipping, so those are 2 different areas and different carriers.

Thankfully the upgrade has been sorted now. I did a manual upgrade to the latest version and after deleting modules and increasing the memory everything appears the same.

Do you still have the problem after the upgrade? If so it may be a settngs issue. Double check:

Carrier zones

Countries in those zones

Weight ranges (no gaps, no overlaps)

Fees by carrier, geographical zone, and ranges (all has a price set)

Place an order with a test account using check payment. Can you replicate the isseu? Does shipping show during checkout? Do invoice and notification emails show it?

I had a similar problem with orders coming in with no shipping charge. I isolated the problem to IE 8 browser and one page checkout. Inputting the address does not cause the shipping options to display, and customers are able to check out with no shipping selected which results in no shipping charge. I haven't resolved this issue yet.
