Categories Tree Selected Item when Level selected does not appear

hi!

 

My Categories tree includes only 1st and second levels.

Third level navigation is done from central column

 

My problem is that when I select some element of the third element, Categories tree looses Selected item instead of displaying the appropiate 2nd level parent item

 

Do you know how can I fix this 2nd level parent item while I continue navigating through third level although this level does not appear in the tree itself?

you will need to edit the blockcategories module.
