Huge problem after update to 1.4.7.3 modify combination

Hi I have a huge problem now I have upgraded to 1.4.7.3

 

If I go to a product and want to modify a combination (say decrease stock of a certain size of suit by 1). I go to the product, click on the "Combinations" tab, click on the attribute edit icon (pencil).

 

Now - the qty above is populated. I used to enter the figure and click the "Modify this attribute" button.

 

The problem is that the button does not change. It remains "Add this combination" and so I cannot *edit* any combinations.

 

If anyone can help - please let me know. Also my layered nav module has now stopped working:

Any ideas? Am glad for one of the mods to take a look at BO if that helps at all?
