[solved] Backend short description not showing text

In the backend of my shop, when I try to type any text in the short description box, nothing happens or appears. If I try this in the long description, all is there and text appears in real time.

 

If I go to html mode, i can add text to the short description box, and update and then save. The text appears on the site, but never shows in the back office short description box.

 

If I right click the short description box, it gives me generic browser controls for "back, reload, save image etc" However in the long description box, a right click reveals wysiwyg controls specific to the box.

 

So i'm not sure why I can't see any text in the short description box on the backend? Everything else for the site is great, images are loading! Styles are being called, new images shown etc.

 

Any ideas?

Some members reported this problem too and it happens to be a compatibility issue between Firefox11 and TinyMCE, the 3rd party editor used in PrestaShop.

 

A temporary solution is to download the 3.5b2 version of TinyMCE here http://www.tinymce.com/download/download.php and to replace the following 3 files in js/tiny_mce

tiny_mce_popup.js

tiny_mce_src.js

I had the same problem with two different e-shops too. It is really very annoying and it should be made as sticky post I think.
