How do I disable/enable email function altogether for my shop?

Hi,

 

Currently, I have two Prestashop instances in my server, similar to the example below:

 

http://test.nameofmyshop.com (Test environment)

http://nameofmyshop.com (Production)

 

The developer has completely switched off email in production environment as per my advise due to the fact that there are live customer records in there we have recently migrated.

Test environment is still sending out emails as per usual when a customer registers, buys product, etc.

We will be going live with production very soon but the developer is no longer around. I wish to enable email again production environment but have no idea how.

 

My questions are as follows:

- Which part of my production environment do I modify that would enable email functionality again?

- I've been informed by my service provider that there is no way to completely switch off email from the account level in control panel, is this correct? Is it a matter of commenting out a code snippet?

 

 

Any help would be very much appreciated.
