problem with prestashop install

Im completely newbie and not at all good at softwares.

recently I registered a domain name with hosting service from 101Domain.

 

Im followed the shown inpresta shop downlaod guide.

 

I uploaded all the prestashop files to the 101domain server.

 

After completing that as per the instruction I typed www.mydomain.com/install (of course I inserted my correct domain name above is just a demonstration)

 

But its shows 404 error as the file cannot be found on server. P.S: The all unzip files have been put on the hosting 101domain server. The install file is also there I checked it.

 

The path to the install file is private / prestashop_1.4.5.1 / prestashop / install. I even put in the browser this path with my domain name but it doensot appear,

 

What am I doing wrong in it?

 

Please nay help is appreciated. Also keep in mind give me simple answers as those high software words I dont understand much.

Have you followed the install instructions to the letter? There is also a Troubleshooting section in there which may help.

 

What do you get when you type www.mydomain.com by itself? I assume you are not putting the spaces in the url when trying to access it?

 

Things to check would be you rghts to the folders and files via FTP. Folders should be 755 and Files 644 at least. Also look in your .htaccess file for restrictions, but you need to know how to read the file... Search is your friend there!
