Buy Now Pay later (Free No Module)

Hi folks,

Lets sit down and talk buy now pay later as a payment option.

Basically I was looking for a feature to add an option to buy now and pay later. I wanted a minimum spend of £50's to allow the registered customer to buy now and pay later. This you might say would be easy? We'll for the £83.00's GBP and seemingly the only module i could find i set about a free option. Let's face it at just short of £100 GBP's it is no wonder i wanted a free one.

Basicaly below I have included a step by step guide on how to do this for free. Now I will say it is not as fully Back Office friendly in terms of customer management as the module for this but however it works just the same but in a different way.

The Guide to do this is as follows:

1. In you Back Office Admin Panel you must make sure that only registered users can shop on your store. You want no guest checkout. (You can disable this by going to Back office -> Preferences - > disable guest checkout (the little red cross)).

2. Goto Payments in back office -> then Vouchers at the top sub catergory for options in payments.

3. Click on the option to create a new voucher.

4. Follow the options all the way through but making sure for the 'type' you choose a percentage % and set it to one hundered percent (100%).

5. then you must add 'Buy Now Pay Later' for the 'description' option.

6. leave the rest as default apart from 'minimum' option if you want a certain cart spend before the option to buy now pay later is valid. Making sure also that all catergories are checked to make sure that it works how you want. (I set minimum to £120 GBP's so a user can get store credit of upto £120's etc.)

7. Make sure all dates are set for as long as you can so you only need to recreate voucher every lets say in my case '17 October 2013' so in roughly 1 year and bit time. Saves you hassle.

8. You want to show it in cart summary so click enable (green tick) to make sure customer can see option in cart. Also make sure staus is enable again green tick.

9. Create it and your done.

Just advetise on your store E.g. Descriptions or banner adds, and home text etc. the voucher code required for this option.

The customer simple enters as example 'presta123abc' in the stores cart voucher code area and the cart automaticaly accepts the order by giving 100% discount as way of voucher. The order is complete and you basically send out a invoice to registered address to pay offline somehow. In my case it is cash and or credit debit card on payments hotline. I have even set a subdoamin up to manage credit account online by writting to customer etc. and stating there predefined login details for them to login in and manage that way.

I know it is not brilliant but I hope it helps give a tempory fix to this issue until something better pops along. Prestashop should create a default module for this as standard to be fair.

Sorry if it doesnt make much sense or there is mistakes or is unclear have had no sleep for 3 nights and randomly thought i would help others the same way I needed this myself.

Let me know if helpful and if stuck. Cheers, Gaz, Lady Red Modeling.
