Help with most basic Theme Change

Hi,

 

I want to create my own theme for prestashop. I decided to do the most basic change by simply copying the prestashop theme folder and simply renaming it.

 

So now I have two theme folders. One called prestashop and one called test

 

I then went into preferences->appearance , selcted my new them folder test and clicked save.

 

When then view the shop again, I just get a blank white page. I have viewed source code and it is completly empty.

 

I have not made any changes to the theme at this point, so cant understand where to begin.

 

When I switch back to the prestashop theme it all works fine again.

 

I have checked the config/settings.inc.php file and it shows that _THEME_NAME_ has been changed to test

 

Please can someone tell me what I have done wrong.
